Orthodox Word Issue 258-9 |
![]() |
This double issue is dedicated entirely to the Orthodox teaching on
creation. It contains an article about the annual conferences in
Moscow on "The Orthodox Interpretation of the Creation of the
World," sponsored by the "Shestodnev" (Six Days) missionary society
of the Russian Orthodox Church. This is followed by a theological
article, "Created in Incorruption: The Orthodox Patristic
Understanding of Man and the Cosmos in the Original, Fallen, and
Redeemed States," by Hieromonk Damascene, which further examines key
themes introduced by Fr. Seraphim Rose in his groundbreaking book,
Genesis, Creation and Early Man. The article has been
prepared for inclusion in the forthcoming second edition of Fr.
Seraphim's book, and is printed in The Orthodox Word as a
preview of that edition.
